EIT Tables 3-4, 3-5
MEA / PEA Service Limits
What each utility allows at the service entrance for a given meter size. The meter is rated as base (maximum) current, e.g. 15(45) A.
Table 3-4 — MEA (การไฟฟ้านครหลวง): maximum service OCPD and load
| Meter (A) | Max OCPD (A) | Max load (A) |
|---|---|---|
| 5(15) | 16 | 10 |
| 15(45) | 50 | 30 |
| 30(100) | 100 | 75 |
| 50(150) | 125 | 100 |
| 200 | 200 | 150 |
| 200 | 250 | 200 |
| 400 | 300 | 250 |
| 400 | 400 | 300 |
| 400 | 500 | 400 |
MEA note: the OCPD may be rated below the table value, but not below 1.25 × the calculated load.
Table 3-5 — PEA (การไฟฟ้าส่วนภูมิภาค): service conductors and circuit breaker
| Meter (A) | Max load (A) | Min Al conductor (mm²) | Min Cu conductor (mm²) | Max breaker setting (A) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5(15) | 12 | 10 | 4 | 16 |
| 15(45) | 36 | 25 | 10 | 50 |
| 30(100) | 80 | 50 | 35 | 100 |
PEA notes: use copper for service conductors inside buildings. Conductor sizes are for open overhead runs on insulators; for other methods size from chapter 5, with ampacity at least 1.25 × the tabulated load. The PEA table prints breaker ranges (15–16, 40–50 A); the upper value is shown. Check either utility's rules with Breaker Sizing.
